No Thanksgiving - but still very thankful

Those of us who don't hale from the United States watch from close, or afar the Thanksgiving craziness that is unleashed from the Northern Atlantic to our shores.  It is a wonderful idea, giving thanks ... and it's nice to contemplate from the state of Israel.   Most of our holidays have religious significance, so I enjoy a good secular holiday in full force, complete with its own cultural, sporting and eating activities.

I want to share with you 6 Jewish sites from the USA that I appreciate and explain why.
  1. Check out CreativeJewishMom, what an incredible source of original crafting activities, they're all do-able.  Kudo's for creativity and fun.  (Perhaps the websites creator currently lives in Israel but I'm guessing she's American)
  2. If you haven't been to the Jew and the Carrot go right now, don't hesitate, don't even think twice JUST click - I'm not 100% a Greenie but I love the community, presentation, RECIPES and ethos that is this blog.
  3. If you were looking for a gift and you'd been through my site with a fine-toothed comb and you still hadn't found what you wanted, I'd send you to the Modern Tribe.  They have a great collection of Judaica from both Israeli and North American artists and their site looks good, too.
  4. I like my ranges a lot but when I look at Pop Judaica, I chuckle. I'm sure they think "I'm way-old" but you make me smile!
  5. Call me old school but I like to look at the Forward. Okay they were created as a Yiddish newspaper and I love that they still have a Yiddish section, I don't always agree with their politics but I enjoy the variety.
  6. Finally the Jewish Museum of New York, not only do they stock Barbara Shaw in their gift shop but what a great museum!
Happy Thanksgiving!
