Great Israeli Design Site Coolil.com

I think the wider world of design has yet to discover the ingenuity, flair and out of the box thinking of Israeli designers. Israeli designers don’t have a tradition to fall back on and new materials are used in unexpected shapes and ways. Israeli designers are inventing themselves as they go along and they are not apologetic in their designs. Of late a couple of websites and blogs have appeared to show case Israeli design. I would like to highlight one of these http://www.coolil.com/, which is well worth  looking at.

Coolil.com is an online marketplace specializing in the burgeoning Israeli design scene, featuring a wide range of cool Israeli designer products and fashion accessories.

Coolil.com's collection offers an array of products, ranging from Israeli and Jewish jewelry, fashion accessories, handbags, totes, purses, wallets, fashion scarves, unique children's toys and designer diaper bags, all of which are made by the finest Israeli designers.

Our goal is to give people outside of Israel the opportunity to purchase the best products made by leading Israeli designers, as the country's scene forges ahead toward the top of the design world.

Coolil.com offers an Israeli design blog that aims to familiarize those who don't live in Israel and don't actually have the opportunity to stroll the streets of Tel Aviv with the Israeli design scene.

Big Brother is watching!

So apparently I've made it! my aprons appeared on the "Big Brother"  reality TV show this week, I received lots of calls and SMSs letting me know. I guess friends did'nt expect I'd be watching- they were right.  The aprons in question were my ABA SABBA  - Cool Dad, worn by a young fairly awkward father with babe in arms and the pink polka dot IMALE  apron worn by a young woman.

No Thanksgiving - but still very thankful

Those of us who don't hale from the United States watch from close, or afar the Thanksgiving craziness that is unleashed from the Northern Atlantic to our shores.  It is a wonderful idea, giving thanks ... and it's nice to contemplate from the state of Israel.   Most of our holidays have religious significance, so I enjoy a good secular holiday in full force, complete with its own cultural, sporting and eating activities.

New in store

I really enjoy making and creating! I have just placed my Hanuka range in the store and I wanted to say a big thank you to Rosie Ofer my very talented designer.

Brighten your Hannuka and serve your goodies with this festive bright Hannuka apron. This stylish design has a large golden, glowing Hannuka menorah with a number of Hanuka songs in swirled patterns in both English and Hebrew. Comes in children and adult sizes in both burgundy and in bright red (as pictured).

By the way if want to put your apron to good-use be sure to try out my favorite latkes or doughnut Sauvgania  recipes.
